Loved ones remembered

Almost 200 people braved the weather on Sunday 10th December to attend our annual ‘Light Up a Life’ service.  The outdoor service was led by Reverend Jill Bentall, Test Valley Brass and the Andover Spotlight Singers.

Attendees also watched 5,000 bulbs light up the hospice Christmas tree to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones, families and friends.

Michele Gard, Head of Community Fundraising, said, “Light up a Life is one of the most valued events in our calendar. It enables people in our local community to remember and share precious memories at this special time and to unite and comfort people who have lost their loved ones.

It also highlights the vital support that the hospice provides after family members or friends have died.”

The event was generously supported by The Stannah Group and Tesco River Way donated the mince pies.

Almost £8,000 was raised from the donations given to light up many lives.  This will support the care we give to adults with life-limiting illness and enable us to bring peace, comfort and dignity to every patient we see.

The dedications for each life remembered were displayed t the Hospice until Twelfth Night.

Date for the Diary:  Light Up a Life 2018 will be on Sunday 9th December
