Respite and Palliative Care
The Countess of Brecknock has been providing respite and palliative care for terminally-ill adults since September 1990.
A first class nursing and continuing care team ensure that patients in the six-bed unit are as comfortable as possible during the final stages of their illness.
The Hospice is able to provide a short stay facility to regulate symptoms and pain control, with patients returning home for many months of improved quality of life - possibly before readmission for terminal care.
Respite care is also available to provide a welcome rest for relatives who normally care for patients at home.
